Residential Care

Residential Care with a Loving Heartbeat

High-quality care for the elderly is why we exist – and we recognise that old age can present a range of challenges for each individual. At Tamahere Eventide, we have three separate Residential Care services to provide an excellent quality of life for all of our residents. Each of these options is created to meet the different needs of our elderly residents, while still sharing the care and excellence that surrounds all that we do.
Our Residential Care services are made up of our 56 bed Rest Home, our 22bed Dementia Unit and our 2 bed Respite Care facility. With our caring and experienced staff providing living assistance for our residents, Tamahere Eventide has the living option to suit you or your loved one’s needs. Each Residential Care service has regular activities that the residents are encouraged to participate in, this helps to help create new friendships and to keep the mind and body energised. With daily baking for morning tea, friendly caring staff and the beautiful grounds – our Residential Care facilities truly feel like they are a home away from home.

Rest Home Care

Comfort, Care and Dignity in Action

The Tamahere Eventide Rest Home embodies our belief that all of our elderly residents deserve appreciation of and respect for their contribution to society. We seek to honour our Rest Home members’ self-worth and abilities, while providing care and support to assist them in their day-to-day lives.

Each of our Rest Home residents enjoy a comfortable single-bedded room, with central heating, a chest of drawers wardrobe, hand-basin and an over-the-bed table for their daily breakfast-in-bed. Our tasty meals are prepared by the excellent catering team, who can provide for all dietary requirements.

Our residents are encouraged to socialise in one of the four lounges, where they can meet with new friends or spend time with visiting family members. Those who prefer the literary lifestyle can enjoy our well-stocked library, or they have the option to participate in one of our regular outings.

With an emergency call system in each bedroom, our hallways and bathrooms fitted with sturdy support rails, smoke detectors and fire sprinklers, the Tamahere Eventide Rest Home is a safe environment that provides for the needs of our residents.  Rooms are also fitted with a telephone to enable family and friends to contact residents at their convenience.
Our staff – including a qualified nurse on each shift – care for each individual within our community, seeking to help them live a high-quality, comfortable life that supports them physically, socially and spiritually. Wifi is available throughout the building for those who enjoy the internet or use Skype.
