Louis Fick

Chief Executive Officer

Louis' tenure at Tamahere Eventide spans over two decades, during which he has been instrumental in the company’s development and adherence to its core Christian values. Louis is deeply proud of the organisation’s accomplishments and the work of its Board of Trustees. This collective knowledge has enabled Tamahere Eventide to continuously offer more services to the community. A key aspect of Louis' philosophy is fostering a true sense of community among residents. His dedication to creating a holistic environment where every person feels valued and cared for is a testament to his leadership and the organisation’s mission.

David McGeorge

General Manager, Villages and Properties

David is a banking veteran turned retirement village manager. He oversees the care and development of three sites (Tamahere Eventide, Atawhai Assisi and Wesley Courts), manages sales, and ensures high standards of safety and human resources. His banking experience aids in the growth and management of the community-focused facility.

Sue Courtney

General Manager, Finance

Sue has had a diverse and dynamic career, working in a variety of industries including television and aerial topdressing. Her journey took a significant turn in 2015 when she joined Tamahere Eventide as the Accountant. With her expertise and dedication, Sue has been instrumental in managing the financial operations of the organization. As Tamahere Eventide expanded and acquired Atawhai Assisi, Sue’s role evolved. She now leads a small but efficient accounting team, ensuring that both facilities run smoothly from a financial perspective.

Versie Gareza

General Manager, Tamahere Eventide Care Services

Versie was born and raised in the Philippines, where she completed her education up to a Master’s Degree in Nursing, graduating with an Award of Merit (Cum Laude). After gaining experience in the Philippines and Singapore General Hospital, she worked in Saudi Arabia and Kuwait. Seeking further opportunities, she moved to Rotorua, New Zealand, earned a Post Graduate Diploma in Infection Prevention and Control, and gained registration with the NZ Nursing Council. In 2018, she began working with the Trust as a Registered Nurse, eventually managing the 24-bed hospital wing at Tamahere Eventide. Guided by faith and dedication, she continues to embrace new responsibilities and challenges. Outside of work, she finds solace in gardening and connecting with the Lord.

Amardeep Singh Samra

General Manager, Atawhai Assisi Care Services

Amardeep grew up in India, where his early ambition to join the Army inspired him to study at a Ministry of Defence school. Although life took him in a different direction, he poured the same drive into nursing, earning both a Bachelor’s and Master’s degree in Critical Care Nursing from respected Indian universities. He launched his career working in busy emergency departments, where he developed strong skills under pressure and helped people during urgent situations. Keen to broaden his experience, Amardeep moved to the UK and worked as a nurse in the NHS. In 2022, he made New Zealand his new home, joining the Atawhai Assisi team, where his contributions were quickly recognised. Amardeep was soon promoted to General Manager, leading the team with steady commitment and kindness.Known for his discipline, compassion, and focus, Amardeep follows the principle of putting others first, making sure every person in his care feels valued. He believes in lifelong learning, having achieved his Nurse Prescribing qualification and now studying to become a Nurse Practitioner. In Hamilton, he enjoys life with his wife and two children, keeping close family connections with relatives in India.
